“We end the evening with the Godmother of Quebec Fashion: Marie St-Pierre. The room is packed and yours truly has to stand. Everyone is taller then me, I’m tired and grumpy and about 5 thirteen year old girls with bad haircuts are sitting in the front row. Thankfully, David Majer of Live MTL takes pity on a poor short girl’s inability to see and shuffles me to the other side of his camera where I have a prime lookout spot onto the runway.”
A very nice girl named SaraSophie Drouin-Siebes has posted this video, it’s a short documentary / party video featuring Montreal local DJ Mary Hell, who’s life is a kind of docu-party video in itself. The cirlce is complete. Check it out here:
La Fee Verte, Montreal’s newest lingerie manufacturer, is taking a young new approach to an old industry, the Shmata trade (aka. Fashion). Adam Sakara, the company’s founder, wants to see women’s wear with fresh looks on “classic technical garments.”
P.S. La Fee Verte translates to: The Green Fairy… It’s an absinth thing.
For a behind the scenes view of a stop motion promo that was done for the brand, check out the video below:
Local boy geniuses over at Moment Factory have outdone themselves once again in their collaboration with Nine Inch Nails‘ Trent Reznor on the NIN: Lights in The Sky tour, which is currently ongoing across North America
Moment Factory is well known in Montreal for their custom lighting design capabilities. The company grew it’s roots in the VJ world and has since reached international fame working with major clients, like the Cirque du Soleil on the Revolution Lounge in the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.
Check out this video in which Sakchin Besette, co-founder of Moment Factory, talks about the NIN experience:
Thanks to the lovely folks at MEG and GEG, Sebastien Tellier, the uber-sexy singer-songwriter from France, blessed a crowd of horny Montrealers with gonad exciting rhythms off his latest release, Sexuality. Sebastien talked to LiveMtl about his love affair with, music, fruit, and ‘everybody.’ So please snuggle up to someone tonight and kiss and caress and listen to Sexuality.
Native Montrealer King Khan, a.k.a. Black Snake, played the Sala Rossa on July 25 ‘08, to a fun sweaty mess of a crowd. Complete with mosh pit, crowd surfing, a chicken outfit and broken beer bottles, Khan destroyed our innocence with a soulful auditory assault.
So the mighty iPhone has finally been officially released in Canada, and today it went on sale for the first time. Here’s a pic of what the FIDO store on the corner of St. Urbain and Mont Royal looked like at 10 AM.
Vive La Fete played at the Club Soda for the Montreal Jazz Fest. Els Pynoo was nice enough to talk to us about her collaborations with her partner Danny Mommens.
We watched photographer Sev Seven get his fashion on with model Chloe wearing bikinis and posing with some sexy racing bicycles. The shoot resulted in amazing pictures. Check out the video below.
Crudessence is Montreal’s newest Vegan and Raw foodist’s dream come true. The food service company is well known as a caterer par excellence and they have just opened a cafe located within a close proximity to the Sunday Tam Tam’s, just off Parc Jean Mance, at Esplanade and Rachel.
Lisa Shalom, a friendly staffer, was nice enough to tell me about what goes on at Crudessence, she explained that the theory behind the establishment is to promote healthy lifestyles while proving that eating fast does not have to mean eating badly. The snacks and drinks served at Crudessence look and taste hearty and healthy. Here’s to feeling good. Cheers.
