Moment Factory does [NIN] Nine Inch Nails

Local boy geniuses over at Moment Factory have outdone themselves once again in their collaboration with Nine Inch Nails‘ Trent Reznor on the NIN: Lights in The Sky tour, which is currently ongoing across North America

Moment Factory is well known in Montreal for their custom lighting design capabilities. The company grew it’s roots in the VJ world and has since reached international fame working with major clients, like the Cirque du Soleil on the Revolution Lounge in the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas.

Motel Canada is Montreal Kitsch

The Gazette ran an article on Motel Canada‘s potential closing. Does anyone really care? According to the article Roxane Arseneault does, she’s writing her thesis on Quebec’s Culture of Kitsch. Hmmm… still does anyone care? The folks over at Urban Photo might, they wrote an article titled “Save Our Cities Kitsch.”

This is an awesome pic by a real Montrealer. Mark Slutsky (on MySpace) is most well known in Montreal for his writing in The Mirror, mostly food and movie reviews. In this photo he employs a technique called High Dynamic Range Imaging or “HDR” to blow out the colours and give the image an almost catoonish glow. The Schwartz Smoked Meat Index

This Picture was taken less than a week ago and is probably already out of date (anyone know of otherwise?). Yes folks, it is the one and only exchange rate sign from our favorite smoked meat salon: Schwartz Hebrew Delicatessen. It almost feels like 1930 is back, when a sandwich only cost 5 cents, but alas the 5 is a percent and not a dollar figure. Still, it’s interesting to note the CAD now buys more meat per pound than the Greenback does.

From now on all foreign bond trading should be based solely on this exchange rate, screw the Big Mac Index. Smoked meat kicks hamburger ass anyway. (Note to all finance majors: no one cares if that doesn’t make any sense, it makes non~~sense~~cents! You know who you are!!)
